Identify the machine and the task

Record the grinder model and whether it is a standalone unit or part of a coffee machine. A product intended for a standalone grinder may not be approved for a built-in grinding mechanism. Decide whether the problem is accessible loose grounds, oily residue or a failure to operate. A cleaning tablet is not a repair for a damaged part.

Read both sets of instructions

Check the grinder manual and the cleaning product label for explicit compatibility, dose, sequence and any follow-up purge. If either source excludes the machine, stop there. Do not infer that a food-based ingredient is appropriate just because coffee also passes through the burrs.

Separate dry cleaning from washing

Disconnect the appliance before the manual’s user-serviceable cleaning steps. Wash only parts that the manufacturer permits you to wash and dry them as directed before refitting. Never carry advice for a removable grounds container over to the motor or burr assembly. If disassembly requires force or unfamiliar tools, consult support.

Write down the date, approved method and what changed afterward. If grinding slows again immediately, record the symptoms rather than repeatedly adding more cleaning product. Check for an overfilled grounds bin or another cause identified in your manual. Stop using the appliance if it behaves abnormally.
