Method by Danny HBMS. CupClarity independently wrote the instructions and drew the diagrams. No affiliation or endorsement is implied.

Uses the source’s no-skimming option: turn after 4:00. Pour 10 s and press 60 s are estimates based on the 5:00 headline. This is cupping-inspired, not a standardized sensory test.

01 · MAKE IT YOURS

Your brew, your dose.

Start with the original settings below. Coffee dose is the weight of dry grounds; changing it scales the water automatically. Temperature is the water temperature when pouring. Step times do not scale automatically.

Enter water per step at the base dose of 11 g. Your selected dose scales these amounts automatically. Set a step to zero for waiting or pressing. The actual amount to pour appears beneath each field and in the guided steps.

Before starting the timer

  1. Fit a paper filter in the standard cap. Use a sturdy receiving cup and check usable chamber space.
  2. Inversion can spill hot liquid. Follow the brewer manual; use an upright recipe if unfamiliar. Seat the plunger firmly on a level surface before adding coffee.
  3. Prepare the filter cap before starting. Attach it securely before turning; support the chamber, plunger and receiving cup together.

Water input is not finished drink yield. This recipe is limited to 200 g of water; check your brewer’s usable capacity.

02 · FOLLOW THE BREW

Ready when you are

0:00/ 5:00

Step 1 of 3 · 10s remaining in this step

Keep this page open and your device volume on. Sounds may not play when the tab is suspended or the screen is locked. Timing catches up when you return.

In each pour, “Add” is the water for that step. “Scale target” is the cumulative water added since the start: tare before the first pour, not between pours. The timer advances automatically; pause if you need more time. Duration fields use seconds (60 s = 1 minute).

    Pour

    Add 200 g Scale target: 200 g

Wet the grounds in one controlled pour.

  2. 02

    Long steep

Keep the brewer stable; prepare a rinsed paper filter.

  3. 03

    Turn & press

With the filter cap secure, support both parts and carefully turn onto the cup. Press gently into a mug, then let the coffee cool.

BEFORE YOU BREW

Make the experiment useful.

  • Start timing with the first pour unless preparation says otherwise. Keep the brewer attended; stop pressing if resistance is high.
  • Grinder clicks apply only to the named model. Adjust one variable at a time; flavour outcomes are not guaranteed.
