What the current official S5 Pro information tells you about weight, adjustment and ordering—and what still needs a real test.

The short answer
The S5 Pro deserves a look if you want external adjustment and are comfortable with a relatively substantial hand grinder. TIMEMORE lists a 910 g weight, 30 g capacity and a folding 185 mm handle in its design article. Those are manufacturer specifications, not our measurements. Start by checking whether that size and dose capacity suit your routine rather than assuming a newer model is automatically the better purchase.
What is actually documented
TIMEMORE identifies the burr as the 48 mm TriB-048-I and describes 90 adjustment steps per rotation, with 15 microns per click. Treat the adjustment increment as a mechanism specification. It is not a claim that all grounds come out at one particle size, and it does not let you transfer a recipe number from another grinder.
Check the delivery promise before paying
The official product page checked on September 22 showed an October 6 estimated preorder shipping note, alongside a separate end-of-January restocking message. The page did not make those messages consistent. We cannot turn that into a confirmed delivery date. Ask the seller which notice applies to your selected color, destination and order, and retain its written reply. This is a current information check, not a verified global launch date.
A simple fit decision
Put your usual dry dose beside the listed capacity and consider how many batches you make. Someone grinding for several people should count repeat fills as part of the workflow. For travel, include the grinder in the total packed weight rather than comparing the grinder alone with an electric unit that stays at home. A folding handle can help storage without making the body lighter.
An upgrade should solve a named problem
Write down the limitation of your current grinder: adjustment access, capacity, handling or service support. If none of those stops you making a cup you enjoy, waiting for independent testing is a reasonable option. Manufacturer descriptions of flavor, particle distribution and easier grinding remain manufacturer claims; we have not measured torque, grind speed or tasted an S5 Pro against an S3 or C5.
What to check when comparing sellers
Save the exact model name, color, included accessories, delivery terms and regional support route. A discounted listing is not enough to establish that two offers contain the same package. For an espresso purchase, check the current manual and your intended basket before relying on a setting quoted for another model.
